Ever wonder if you’re cut out for “life on the road”? Me too.
Phase 1: Ready for a change
As I’m writing this I’m currently sitting at my desk at my stable job with good benefits and a satisfying paycheck, wondering what else is waiting for me outside of this small town in New Brunswick. Last year two of my good friends dropped everything, packed up and headed to Whistler, BC to work at a resort and explore the mountains and I’m curious if I’m ballsy enough to take it one step further. I spent my day at work today on Kijiji looking for a motor home that I can travel across the Great True North I call home but never really got to know, I’m 21 years old… this would be the time to do it right?? I have no bills, kids or commitments tying me down here. But this is crazy… right? You only see full-time travelers in movies or on Instagram, to pack up and live the life on the road with no income or a plan seems as magical as it is terrifying. I sent a brief message to my friend group today confessing my plan and they we’re not only supportive but surprisingly on board to join me. So I think this is it, this is the beginning, and whether it’s easy and breezy or goes down in flames I’m going to stick it out.
